From the desk of Barb Asselin

Dear parent, teacher or caregiver,

My name is Barb Asselin.  Are you experiencing frustration in trying to figure out what your baby wants?  Your baby is crying.  You immediately check your baby's diaper, talk to you baby, pick your baby up, give your baby milk or food - or maybe they wanted a toy...

Wouldn't it be great to know EXACTLY what your baby needs BEFORE they have to cry to get it?

Imagine this:

Your baby is sleeping soundly.  From the monitor in your baby's room, you hear the familiar "gurgling" that tells you that your baby is waking up from their nap - but it's early.  You go into your baby's room and cheerfully greet your baby, who looks up at you with a big smile.  Instead of crying, your baby simply uses his or her hand to gesture the word "milk".  You say you'll be right back and go get your baby some milk.  When you return with the milk, your baby smiles, takes the milk, starts drinking it and returns to his or her nap, having received exactly what he or she needed - with NO crying at all!

Does that sound too good to be true?  Well, I can tell you from experience that it is NOT too good to be true.  You can easily achieve this with your baby in only minutes a day!  See for yourself....

I am a college professor and I teach people of all ages in my programs.

  • I teach various computer programs to Paralegals, Law Clerks and Legal Assistants

  • I teach my students in the following areas of law: real estate, wills & estates, corporate, family and litigation

  • I teach my students how to successfully work in the legal field, what to expect and how to deal with all types of difficult people

Even that I feel successful in my teaching career, I feel even more success as a mother.

I have had such great success using American Sign Language with my two daughters, that I would love nothing more than to help you bridge the communication gap with your baby.

Through my newest product, Baby Sign Language: Turn Frustration Into Communication Using American Sign Language With Your Baby, Infant and Toddler, I can teach you to communicate with your baby!

Don't worry if you have never even seen American Sign Language before.  A few minutes a day is all it takes to teach you AND your baby!

My downloadable eBook explains each sign in detail with supporting photos and drawings so there is no doubt as to how to make each sign.  Don't worry.  Babies can do it and so can you!  The rewards will be incredible!

I remember when my oldest daughter was about 1 year old.  We took her to visit my brother's family for a week.  My brother has a golden retriever named Stanley.  Casey had so much fun playing with the dog!  The first morning that Casey woke up after returning home, we went into her room to find here standing up in her crib signing the word "dog".  She was asking where the dog was!

Now my husband was very supportive in my sign language "experiment" and learned all of the signs I did and helped me teach Casey sign language as well.  He could easily see the benefits of using sign language because she never seemed to cry at all - we always knew what she wanted.  But this was different for him!  He said, "If we never taught her sign language, how would we know what she was thinking?"  He was totally amazed!

You don't have to go through two years of frustration trying to figure out what your child needs..

Research shows that there are five developmental stages to language development.  The first stages occurs at about 4-6 months of age when babies enter the babbling stage of development.  They make sounds like na-na and ta-ta.  The second stage occurs at around 10 months where the child starts babbling to mimic the sounds of the household.  The one-word stage occurs around the age of one and two-word stage occurs around the age of two.  An example of the fourth stage would be "Mommy go".  The final stage occurs after the age of two and includes 3-word sentences.

Keep in mind that every child is different and while some children may learn to speak in a "textbook" fashion, others will be more inclined to learn something else (i.e., fine and gross motor skills, etc.) and language development may take a back burner.  Your child may learn to walk early, but talk late.  Nothing is wrong with your child - it is just that all of their "learning" energy went to learning to walk.  Once that is mastered, they can continue on with their language development.

So, it could be that you have difficulty communicating with your child until after their second birthday!  That's a long time!
