Overview
BookPromo is a Chrome extension that helps authors manage book promotions by importing publicly available book data from Amazon product pages into the BookPromo web application.
What Data We Collect
The BookPromo extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
When you visit an Amazon book page and activate the extension, it reads publicly visible book information from that page, including:
- Book title and author name
- Price and ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number)
- Cover image URL
- Book description, ratings, and review count
- Publication date and sales rank
- Genre categories
This information is sent directly to your open BookPromo app tab in your browser. It is not sent to any external server, third party, or analytics service by the extension.
How Your Data Is Stored
Book data imported through the extension is stored in your personal BookPromo account. Each user’s data is private and accessible only to that user.
Permissions
The BookPromo extension requests the following browser permissions:
- Access to Amazon pages — to read publicly visible book information when you activate the extension on an Amazon product page
- Access to the BookPromo app tab — to send the imported book data to your open BookPromo session
The extension does not request access to your browsing history, personal files, or any other websites.
Third-Party Services
The extension interacts only with:
- Amazon.com (and regional Amazon sites) — to read publicly available book data
- BookPromo — to deliver imported book data to your account
No data is shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third parties.
Children’s Privacy
BookPromo is intended for adult authors and entrepreneurs. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
